Jun 07

We're thrilled to finalise details of the seventh in our series of free webinars, taking place on 7th June, from 3-4.30 PM UK time.

This event, titled non-targeted and targeted blood (+/-fibrin) patching in the management of spinal CSF leaks is delivered by Dr Ayman Qureshi, and will explore the following areas:

  • The role in the typical patient pathway of epidural blood patches
  • What to expect when coming for a blood patch - before, during, and after the procedure, expected benefits and risks, post-procedure care (e.g. positioning, duration of bed rest etc.)
  • Targeted blood and fibrin patching - when can and can't this be done, expected benefits, risks, what to expect.

Dr Qureshi is a consultant neuroradiologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

This webinar has been scheduled due to a high level of interest among the CSF leak community on this topic. It will provide an opportunity to understand the evidence for blood patching, when it is appropriate, and how as patients we can collaborate with the healthcare provider to optimise outcomes following these types of procedures.

Q&A Submissions

We'd love to hear what questions you have about CSF leaks and Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension (SIH). The questions will be reviewed and matched to the best-suited webinar presenter. The speakers are unable to answer questions about specific individual health issues, these are best addressed to your personal doctor. We’ll do our best to address each question as thoroughly as we can within the time we have together.

If you let us know what topics connected to CSF leaks you are interested in, we can tailor the content of future webinars to match your interests. This is your chance to shape the discussion and make sure we cover what matters most to you!

All information submitted will be processed and managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
