Employer-supported Volunteering

Employer-supported volunteering (ESV) is where organisations provide employees with the opportunity to volunteer during working hours. ESV is typically described as paid time off for individual volunteering with a registered charity or as part of a programme developed by the employer such as a team challenge event or an ongoing arrangement with a charity partner.

Some of the recognisable benefits for employers include the link between volunteering and employee development and the opportunity to engage with employees, whilst improving communication and understanding of causes which matter most to their employees.
